Pierre is one of the few towns anywhere with two major Missouri River reservoirs meeting at the city limits: Lake Oahe’s dam — and its stocked chinook salmon fishery — just north of town, and Lake Sharpe running along the downtown riverfront. You can fish Oahe salmon and Sharpe walleye in the same day.
