5 Reasons to Consider the Polaris Ranger XP1000 Northstar

Sep. 8 2023 Miscellaneous By Vallely Sport & Marine

1. Use the Northstar all-year around

The Polaris Ranger Northstar's cab, roll cage and doors fit well together, allowing for internal pressurization to keep the dust out of the interior. Unlike most ATVs, UTVs and side-by-sides, the Polaris Ranger Northstar can be used 12 months out of the year comfortably without wearing extra gear in the winter or breaking a sweat in the summer -- for many people -- whether working or recreating -- this makes the investment more justifiable, especially in the North Dakota, Montana, Minnesota, etc. climates. The Northstar and many other Ranger models come plow ready, meaning on models with a winch, the plow can be easily installed without having to climb underneath the vehicle unlike almost every other side by side brand.

The heat in the winter -- I don't even need to explain this one.

The air conditioning in the summer -- keeps you cool when you're working or driving around town/the lake.

As a bonus, the Ultimate trim level comes with a tip-out windshield - great for hunting.

2. Work or fun in the Polaris Ranger

The quiet cab and abundant power of the 1000cc engine allow for a wide variety of uses --
some that will make money, others that will put a smile on your face.

The towing capacity of 2,500 pounds allows for the movement of dual personal watercraft set ups and small boats -- or loads around the farm, yard or construction site. The ease of use continues: Ranger has a standard sized pickup hitch socket. Most belt driven vehicles "lurch" when put into gear; the Polaris Ranger a WORK mode that mitigates the "lurch" which is especially important when backing up a hitch in tight quarters. Backing up to trailers or in tight quarters on a trail are further convenienced by the backup camera placed right above the hitch. All Polaris Ranger and Polaris General models have a "Turf mode" or a one wheel drive mode that doesn't spin one of the rear tires when making turns, helping you preserve your lawn or hot asphalt from the tires. Now you may understand why the Ranger's slogan is smoothest riding, hardest working!

The 13" ground clearance and 8-ply 27" Pro Armor tires make off-road navigating a lot more nimble; extend the nimble ride for a long journey with the 11.5 gallon fuel tank at about 20mpg, that means 230 miles!

Beside the WORK mode, the Ranger XP1000 Northstar also has PERF mode or Performance mode when you're ready to have some thrilling throttle response as you navigate from destination to destination. You might have a sporty trail or location in mind already! If not, Polaris has a RideCommand app where people can share their rides/trails/paths -- select one and start making memories.

RideCommand makes riding a lot more social. Now, you can go on a ride with your friends and see them on your RideCommand screen if they have a RideCommand equipped vehicle or the app. You can also activate the mode that tracks your route, so you can head out to new destinations and always find your way back -- even if the sun sets. RideCommand is standard on all Ultimate trim level XP 1000 Northstar models which also have a built-in Rockford Fosgate sound system so you can listen to your favorite Morgan Wallen songs, a podcast, or audiobook while you cruise around. That's right, the Polaris Northstar conquers the elements so well, you can be quite civilized and sophisticated on the inside. Or race your friends and experience new adventures.

3. Share the Ranger Northstar with the whole family

The ease-of-use of the Polaris Ranger allow it to be an approachable vehicle, with industry leading capability. A vehicle that can be used in all seasons by everyone in the family ensure the vehicle won't sit idle for long!

4. Go where your pickup truck cannot

The Polaris Ranger Northstar is only 60 inches wide with 13" of ground clearance -- allowing it to fit in places and go over obstacles most stock pickup trucks cannot. If you've ever gone off-road in a three quarter ton pickup, you'll know very quickly that the suspension in the Polaris Ranger is much more adept at off-road terrain. It's easier to do three point turns or make tight turns, even with a trailer. Trails are more suited for ATVs and side-by-sides like the Polaris Ranger Northstar, meaning you can explore the wilderness or take shortcuts without being too wide or scratching up your daily vehicle. When you trade-in an ATV, it's more acceptable to have a scratch than it is on a pickup truck on the car lot.

5. UTV as a potential  tax write off for farms, ranches and other businesses

This is not tax advice, please contact a tax professional. Many business find use for a Polaris Ranger Northstar. Farmers, ranchers, construction companies, oilfield companies, colleges, sports teams, law enforcement, military, government operations, etc. have all been spotted with a Polaris side-by-side.
